Group A Streptococcus: Your Part | |
|
There is no part too small. Reducing
transmission is the ultimate goal. The easiest way to do this is to prevent infection.
Washing hands often - but not too often - is a simple way to prevent infection.
The less virulent varieties of Group A Streptococcus usually infect children. Therefore it is important
to impress good hygiene to children. Parents should teach their children how to properly take care of their bodies by
example and instruction. When the child is out of the parents' jurisdiction at school, teachers should impress good hygiene to the students.
It is important to encourage hand washing after using the toilet, coughing, sneezing, or blowing one's nose, and to avoid making other people sick by staying home when sick. It is equally as important to visit your doctor if you think you have Our Part I intend to raise awareness of these diseases while providing materials to reduce transmission and improve treatment of those who have been infection. A multi-pronged approach will attack the bacteria from all sides to help reduce virulence and infection rate. This approach, fueled by a hypothetical $5 million, will help to reduce the transmission of Streptococcus. I plan to release an ad campaign to raise awareness through two media outlets: television and magazines. This coupled with a traveling teacher program should reach as many people as possible. Funding will also be allocated to help with the development of a Streptococcus vaccine. For a detailed plan of how I intend to fight Streptococcus go here.
