CONCEPTS IN BIOLOGY (BIO 211) LABORATORY

PREREQUISITES: None
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Laboratory required for all students taking BIO 211. Students explore fundamental principles of biology through hands-on activities and inquiry based experiments.
INSTRUCTOR: Professor Salerno (832-2654), Dr. Halkin (832-2651)
LABORATORY MEETING TIMES: Tues. 9:00-10:50 & 12:00-1:50, Thurs. 11:00-12:50 & 1:00-2:50. All labs meet in Room 401, Copernicus.
REQUIRED READINGS: Reading material for laboratories will be handed out in lab one week in advance.
Note: Assignments and points will vary with lab section. See your specific lab syllabus for grading.

ATTENDANCE: Attendance in laboratory is critical. Students who accumulate more than one unexcused absence in the laboratory will FAIL the entire course. If you must miss a lab during a particular week, you must contact me as soon as possible so that I may place you in another lab section.

GRADING: The laboratory makes up ¼ of your overall course grade. The laboratory grade will be based on laboratory quizzes and short assignments as listed above. Assignments not handed in by 4PM on Friday of the week due will receive a grade of zero.
