The photo at left was generously provided by Segundo Leiva who obtained it from Victor Quipuscoa (Universidad San Augustin, Arequipa, Peru). It is Mione's best guess (March 2008) that the photo at left is conspecific with the specimen collected by Weigend & Förther. In other words, the photograph on the left is in no way attached to the observations that follow, observations made on specimen Weigend & H. Förther nr. 97/701.

Two Jaltomata species are similar to this one; all three share copious colored nectar, a bowl-shaped structure formed by the bases of the stamens, and stigma no wider than top of style. One grows in Peru, Department La Libertad and its working name is GreenFruit&OrangeNectar. The other species (J. aspera) grows in Peru, Department Lima.

Geographic Distribution: Peru, Department Arequipa. Elevation 300 to 860 m. Flowering in October.
