Costa Rica

Spooner 7126, 11 Dec. 1996.   Parque Nacional Tapantí.   I was able to go to this collection locality, and confirm what I thought: this looks like it is not the same taxon as Spooner 7130, collected in the same park!   This taxon is common at about 1400 m of elevation in rainforests of Costa Rica (e.g., Mione 583 and 606, Monteverde). J. procumbens.

Spooner 7130, 12 Dec. 1996.   Parque Nacional Tapantí. I was able to go to this collection locality and see this hairy ecotype.   DNA sample was obtained.   See also Mione 686 & 688.

Spooner 7132      Volcan Turrialba. Spooner's accurate collection locality information allowed me to find the population, collected as Mione 693 J. procumbens
