Messer (1978) gave the local names lo.bidzun and lobidzun (page 54) and lo bidzun (page 130) as being used for Jaltomata in Oaxaca, Mexico. At least two species J. procumbens and J. repandidentata, grow in Oaxaca, and so without seeing her voucher specimens I am unable to know which species she encountered.

Nee (1986) listed the following local names of Jaltomata "Acahualera, equelite, jaltomata, quelite cojudo, tomatillo" in Flora de Veracruz. He recognized only a single species, J. procumbens, but I have grown J. repandidentata from Veracruz and so I recognize two Jaltomata species from Veracruz, J. procumbens and J. repandidentata. Thus, the names Nee listed likely apply to more than one species.

Laferriere (1991) gave the local name "tulusin" (J. procumbens) in Chihuahua, Mexico. I recognize two species from Chihauhua, Mexico. I have not seen Laferriere's vouchers, and thus, it is not know with certainty which species this common name is used for.
