Habitat: This species has been collected along a highway and in a primary
jungle.
Altitude: 1400-1700 m
Flowering and fruiting in June, August, and October (Mione 1999)
Morton (1938, p. 76) correctly noted that "nitida...is characterized by having the filaments...completely glabrous."
