Welcome to the
Copernicus Science Computing Laboratory

The CSCL is closed until further notice. Inquiries should be directed to the laboratory administrators.
The Copernicus Science Computing Lab (CSCL) is located in Room 227 of Copernicus Hall. The CSCL is open to faculty and students in the science departments and to those enrolled in science classes.

Ten Dell Pentium II PCs running Windows NT and ten Power Macintosh G4s are available for use. Hard copy output from the microcomputers is via two networked Hewlett Packard laser printers. In addition, a Hewlett Packard flatbed scanner is connected to one of the Lab's G4s (both image and OCR scanning can be done).

Various software packages pertinent to science courses are installed on these computers. Selected available software (installed on at least one computer in the lab) includes:

During scheduled lab hours, a lab assistant is present to help students find the software needed to complete assignments, as well as to care for the computers and printers.
