Research:
I am interested in plant ecology, plant natural history, plant physiological ecology, biogeochemistry, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
My research currently deals with leaf longevity in plants, the implications of those patterns for plant function, and the ecological conditions that dictate those patterns. I am also studying the long-term changes in vegetation associated with a logging operation in Stanley Quarter Park, a local urban park. Further, students and I have worked on projects related to invasive species, salamanders, and box turtles. Finally, I have conducted several projects related to teaching techniques, course design, and student learning.
Students, please feel free to stop by to discuss research opportunities!
